got my firefish on saturday, after trading in my pair of tomato clowns, had to wait just over 2 weeks as they didnt have one in and also qt him for a week didnt see much of him the first day as expected, but is settling in ok.just wonderd how shy are they generally, wont be adding anything for a couple of weeks and dont have any ideas what to put in a 22gal with him,any ideas would be gratefully accepted, thanks

Not very shy at all. Once getting comfortable they stay in the open most of the time. As far as tank mates they are quite peaceful so any nano reef safe fish would be fine. Several species of gobies stay around the bottom of the tank mostly and are fine. Also possibly percula clowns or pygmy wrasse for more viewable tank mates.

starting to see much more of him now, wife says he's quite active during the day;)seems to be feeding well

How "shy" they are will depend on lots of things.

1. Quality of hiding space
2. Flow
3. Lighting
4. Tankmates
5. Size of tank

Glad to hear that they are coming out more for you.

I have one with a damsel in my Biocube and they are both out all the time. They each have a separate sleeping cave for lights out, but other than that, they are out darting between rocks and hanging out up front. He does startle easily and rushes back to his cave, but comes right back out when he sees there's no danger.
