i was wondering... acrylic sheets come in 5x8 or 4x8? i was looking into a future tank that would be 8x4x4 ft or should i go 10x4x4 ft? is it way too deep? should i lessen the height of the tank? what is the best height for datnoids, bichirs, tigs, and the like? i will be putting some sand probably but a thin layer only and some large driftwood. any suggestions? :) or any one who has a 4 ft tall tank any comment?

I believe 4x8 fot there are larger sizes as well

Although most people will disagree with me, I think 4 feet high is perfect for a display tank.

I often visit one thats 20 feet long but only 2 feet wide. Cleaning is not an issue, but changing the aquascape could be a bit tricky, but do-able.

4 feet is way too deep in my opinion. 3 at the max.

i think more cube like aquariums are better for the fish overall, if you get a big enough one. then you don't have to worry about about your aros having turning problems.

How long are your arms? :D

my 150 is 30 inches deep and it is a serious challenge for me to reach the bottom of the tank.. i have a fancy stick with a claw on the end and a tall son..

3 ft, for someone my height or close to it is too deep, especially if the stand is tall.

The bigger the better imho, either way a tank that large is gonna be tricky to clean etc...

10x4x4 would be awesome, well over 1k gallons and would be a great home for those fish.

- And rofl @ it being old. Woops.
