how tall with 3/4 inch thick glass

How tall can I make an aquarium with 3/4 inch glass? I want to do a 4x4x4 foot cube plywood aquarium.

I get 40" in a cube-shape using plate glass and a 3.8 safety factor. At 48", I only get a 2.3 safety factor. At 44" tall, 3/4" glass will get you a 3.0 safety factor.

How do safety factors work? What does this mean? Does a 3.0 safety factor mean it is 3x safer than what?
