ok i have one 4in jaguar cichlid with 3 datnoids at 2-3in (ok i know dont give me that "jag will outgrow the dats" so SHH!) i feed them frozen bloodworms every day and i slip in some NLS 1mm pellets in them is this ok? is this okay feeding them bloodworms daily? because thats all they eat! what should i do guys?

i had to do the same for my salvinis and jacks when i first got them i just gave them the pellets with the food they were stuck on everytime and every day id use less of the main food they were on an more pellets, after a few days use only pellets and after a while theyll get hungry and eat them:P

Im having trouble pellet training my p-bass. the ONLY thing its eats are rosies. he wont even look at bloodworms or pellets even after a week of not eating...
i gave him this pBass :grinno:

gut load. buy some ghost shrimp. let them eat the pellets then feed them to ur dats. do this for a few days then stop feeding them for a few days, then start dropping pellets in there they will eventually take them!

i never had a jag, but i have a few dats that i pellet trained.
i think you are on the right track. when the dats are fat i would just feed pellets exclusively. it might take days, but as soon as one start eating pellets, others will most likely follow.

you can also give floating stick a try, i have one stuborn NTT that only eats aro sticks.

I don't know a thing about Dats but If they are 2-3 inch predators then they might eat crickets. I trained a 3-4 inch Hujita Gar to eat cichlid pellets by mixing brown cichlid sticks with medium sized crickets. It took some time but it worked. Like I said I know nothing about Dats but hopefully the concept is the same.

Jags are not that stubborn compared to some fish. Add pellets with the blood worms until they realize that pellets are food. If that doesn't work starve them until they go for the pellets.
