Ropefish can get to 30+ inches long, but how thick do they get? I currently have one and are currently in my 75g (in my sig)

about as big a round as an adult thumb-Anne

agree...and that would be a big one! typically if you grow one out in aquariums, it'll only get to about 15"-20", and these won't be anywhere near as thick...

I have seen some for sale at my LFS and they were about as thick as my index finger. Would you just feed them high protein foods to get them thicker Anne? I have had mine for about a year and some change and he's grown longer but not really that thick. I'd like for him to get as thick as my thumb but not sure what to feed him. What do you guys think?

give him steroids? Lol j/k keep them on a good diet i guess. :)

if i'm not mistaken, anne was probably referring to big ones, and around the middle section which is their thickest part...so i say don't worry too much about it ;) just focus on feeding a variety of diet and keeping it healthy. oh and females will eventually grow thicker :)
