how thick should the glass be?

Hi im just wondering exactly how thick the glass should be on an aquarium starting at 55g and up. i might attempt to build my own small one just to see if it will hold water then maybe add fish. just wanna try it. thanks

how high is the tank going to be?

like either normal height for that size or maybe a custiom shape like a box with a tower in the middle or something. something striking looking.

You can't figure out glass thickness until you know the dimensions of the tank you want.

yeh exactly u need to understand theres no standard size for a 55

here 10g is about 12" tall and i belive its 1/4 glass then for 18" tall you need 3/8 then 24-30" you need 1/2 then for 3' tall you need 3/4 then four foot 1" glas there you go

for the most part, length and depth are irrelevant, glass thickness depends on the height.

actually up to 20" u only need 6mm wich is roughly 1/4" then 24-28 is 3/8" and 30-36 is 1/2" also as u go higher u need stronger silicone

actually the width is relevant not as important but still extremely important
