Just curious if you leave some open areas, or do you seal your up pretty tight?

I am getting a truvu acrlic, 72x18x18.

I will be building a canopy of wood to match cabinet. Using led lights. I will drill some holes along the ends to allow for some cirulation. Dont expect lights to get real hot.

Curious if i should get some pieces to make covers for the openings in the bracing,
or does it need some spaces to breath?

Or just leave them open?

Howdy,

I tend to leave my covers open a crack to allow for circulation. Unless, of course, you operate an air pump. Then external air get in one way or the other.

My tank has a double sliding thing just above the water basically and then covers on them.

But I do run an air pump.

I keep my 90Gl sealed off because I got Panchax killifish in there.
Now these guys can jump hard!
And I keep my 180Gl totally sealed because of my Gar and my Silver Dollars.
I allready had an SD jump on top of the layer of glass plates during feedingtime.
Seeing that most fish will jump for food, I think it's better to be safe than sorry!
(Airpump=Yes!)
