im having a hard time getting new fish to adjust to 84 deg.(discus tank). when i first set up i started with 3 singapore shrimp, 1 baby arowana, 1 baby bgk, 1 fallawela and 20 neons. i let the tank cycle for about 2 months then raised temp to 84 to prepair for discus 9 of them. now all of those fish are vary happy and healthy but i have been tring to add another fallawela and more shrimp but they dont make it 1 day. water prams are all good. when i bring home new fish i do standard float bags for 15 min let in some tank water and float another 15 min and let go. do i need to do somthing diferant.

i'm sure there is a better way to do it but i am not sure what that is so i will let the experts chime in
I do have one question tho (and i'm sure everyone else will ask this to) what size tank do you have????

Maybe you could try dripping them in a bucket 1st, then re-bag them and float for 20 min, then let them out.
That way they get used to the PH,etc.,first, and then the temp.
Just a suggestion.

it may not be the temp thats killing them. remember that

How about you pH levels, tank water vs. that of the bag water. Drip acclimating should be fine for both temp and pH.

Your gonna shorten the life span of those neons greatly. Better off to use cardinal tetras.

well baybe its something besides temp. i never have checked the ph from the lfs. its just that besides the discus i get all my fish from the same lfs my ph is always stable and i have never had this problem the only change is this is the first hi temp tank i have had.
