how do you become a mod? do you get paid? do you have certain hours you MUST be on or what can someone clear this up for me?

I think a new section has to open up that needs somebody to overlook, and I think you need to be knowledgable in that area (ex. Anne in the polpypterus section). Plus you must be active and competent in the forums. Those are usual requirements, but only another mod can tell you for sure
It doesn't pay anything.. lol And you have to be unbiased in personality. Meaning you have to know how to moderate and keep yourself out of arguments one way or the other. You need maturity as well.
No pay, just some knowledge, time, and a true desire to help our members when we can, common sense and courtesy help as well.
