So I'm thinking about wanting to learn how to breed electric blue jack dempseys. I have a few questions, first off how old/big does an electric blue have to be before it can breed? Is getting electric blue offspring some special trick, or can you just put two electric blues together and their babies turn out the same? What is a spawning trigger for them? I have heard that regular jacks turn dark and have horizontal lines when they are about to spawn, is that the same with electric blues? What kind of tank set up would I need? Last but not least, what is the best method to have highest survival rate for offspring?

In a nutshell: breed a male electric blue jack dempsey to a normal female jack dempsey. After the fry hatch, quickly separate the few lighter colored fry. These will be the EBJDs.
