Just because you have a male and female, doesn't mean they will be compatible.
But there are some things you can do that sometimes work as triggers, if they are ready.
If you let the water sit a week or 2 without a water change, and then do a very large one, with slightly cooler, and if possible lower pH water, it sometimes mimics spring rains, and causes spawning.
I had a pair of managuense that I normally did 2 or 3 water changes per week on, but would let sit 2 weeks without a water change.
During rains, I would collect 50 or so gallons of rain water in a barrel, then after draining 80% of the water from the tank, I'd refill (pump from the 50 gallon barrel) the tank with a combination of a little tap water but mostly rainwater. My tap water average a pH of 7.6, and the rainwater about pH6, and rain water always much cooler, but brought up with warm tap to about 4-5 degrees lower than the tank.
I'd usually get a new spawn within a week.
