Im new to the hole fish breeding thing. So Im sorry about all these questions. I would like to breed my parrots. Ive done a little bit of research. I know most male red parrots are sterile. But what type of fish could I breed with a red parrot. I currently have 2 8" females in a 90 gal tank. They have never even laid eggs. Does there have to be a male fish around for them to spawn???I have a male jack dempsy. Would this fish breed with a parrot?????? Are you saposed to raise the temps or feed them anything special??? I would like to breed the parrots if at all possibe. But would I be better of trying to breed anoter type of ciclid????? Possibly going to the lfs and buying like 7 or 8 of the same kind?? What do you think. I have 2 almost empty tanks. a 90 gal with the 2 female parrots and a 75 thats empty. Both have 1400 gph pumps going through wet/dry set-ups, So they have plenty of filtration. Probobly to much filtration, But the water is always crystal clear. Any sugestions??????????

wow lots of questions. as you already said most parrots are sterile meaning they cant breed. but if you get the odd one that can breed, theres a whole new door open to you. yes jack dempesy can breed with parrots as well as convicts, red devil, greed terror, and the flower horn. if they have laid eggs there most lickliy both male, my female lays eggs every month, but then eats them. if you raise the temp it will help them but ive had no luckwith this. feed live foods then frozen like blood worms or brine shrimp. you would be better of breeding green terror, convicts or red devil, or even servum. the 75 gallon i would go with 4 convicts, 1 blue, 1 black, 1 pink and 1 white, which you can find tattoed.
