How to bring out flagtails red color?

I've had my 7" flagtail for I believe roughly 6-8months now, and the red hasnt bloomed yet.

I feed all my fish market shrimp, massivore, and algae wafers, the flagtail eats them all.

1) Any other food advice?
2) Does size of fish also correlate to deepness of color?

Mine has had great color since he started taking freeze-dried krill. He also loves Hikari cichlid gold, so that could contribute some too
