This pleco sounds like it is for me, what is it , chocolate red eye pleco is the name the lfs has on their list of fish they can order, thanks for helping me.

A picture would help. And you can always go to planetcatfish and compare there pics to what your Pleco looks like.

The red eye red/chocolate pleco is a Pterygoplichthys pardalis .

Which is a common pleco. While I have never seen or gotten one the size of a plain common. I don't see why you would have to treat them differently, however they do tend to be more shy then any Pterygoplichthys I've had before.

they look better than common plecos... i too had one when i first started out.. now i have the exotics.. but he's still around.. with my true albino sailfin pleco... 12"

No i dont have pics to get pics of it i would have to order it, don't want to until i know it is right for me, which one of the pics on planetcatfish shows the color form the common comes in calle d chocolate red eye.
