I have a batch of 1 month old Kribensis fry and would like to catch them to put them in a tank of their own without parents so that I could breed them again. What is the best way to catch them? I have 2 large driftwood one of them have their nest so i do not want to touch that if possible also i have a sandy gravel.
Any tips please?

How big are the fry? haven't dealt with kribs yet but for convict fry I just used an airline siphon when I needed to move them from tank to tank. If they're too big for an airline you could use a larger hose. Just get some water in a bucket and make sure the exit end is submerged before you start vacuuming them up.

Watch the water level in the bucket too. ;) Overflowed mine the first time cause I was so intent on chasing the fry down I wasn't watching the water level. :)

Around 1cm.

haha at overflowing. What about the water you make a water change or put back the water in the tank?

Also did you use a net so that it makes it easier to pick them up from the bucket? Do they suck up the hose or they will escape easily? Do you make any damage when you siphon?

I just make a water change out of it. Fresh water in the parent's tank and dumped the fry into their new tank. Once they're in the bucket you can net them out if you want or just dump them into their new home.

If you dump them keep an eye out for any that get stuck to the side of the bucket, they like to resist being poured out. They tend to swim to the bottom so you can safely dump most of the water from the bucket down the sink (or back into the parent's tank) without losing any fry. The siphon shouldn't harm any of them as long as they are small enough to fit through it and the exit end is under water (and not blocked).
