somwhere
I have this creek near my house and there are little minnows in it and I want to catch them. How can I set a trap for them? Its nearly impossible to catch them with a net.

You can buy a minnow trap in the fishing section of a store. You can bait it with dogfood or somthing and let it sit all day and see what ya catch.

Go to sports authority or w/e and buy a minnow trap and put lil peices of krill and what not in there.

Get an old window screen Put string on it so you can drag it through the water and bait it with cheap cans of cat food and you will have minnows

take a large transparent plastc bag. fill it with water, from the creek, and place it on the bank with the open end facing the bank. put any food inside and weigh down the four corners with smallish stones. give it a while, say 20 mins. stand where you are not visible to the fish at all. after the 20mins, run up to the bag. all the little minnows will swims to the bottom of the bag(as it is transparent) and you grab the open end and lift it so the fish cant swim out.

thats what i used to do as a kid

I use dip nets with fine netting and at least a 24 inch handle.

It's not impossible, I catch them by the hundreds with dip nets, and I'm nearsighted.:)

Good for your hand and eye coordination and excellent for losing weight. I've lost 12 pounds so far this Summer.:D
