Hi,
first off this is coral that can be used in freshwater, so not alive, just basically hard rock.
its been sitting in the garden recently and i want to get rid of it.
what would be the right way to clean it properly without harming the fish when it goes back in to a tank? its going to need more than warm water and a good scrub though lol

cheers

If warm water wouldn't work would boiling water do the trick? That is what I do to rocks I want to use that I am unsure of, then spray it off with the high pressure hose to remove any left over debris. The boiling water usually softens anything left on/in the rocks to where it just falls off.

Boil or bake it...

well unfortunatly i dont have a kitchen let alone an over atm so no baking lol

k il try the hot water and see what happens then spray off with a hose as i am a girl and dont own anything that has high pressure in the name

I would take a weak soulution of bleach, and scrub it down. then rinse very well, and let it soak for a few day's in a bucket of water. Rinse again, should be fine. Incidentaly, what kind of tank are you putting this in? coral rock and skeletons can raise the pH and carbonate hardness of the tank, sometimes up to 8.0 or so. If your keeping anything but african ciclids, i would either rethink putting it in, or give it a good coat of something like epoxy to seal it.
My 2c.
