how to clean Eheim hose

ok, so im cleaning my 2217 for the very first time, and how can i get rid of those build-up inside those hose/tube?? im not sure if those are alge or what but im not sure if running water through it will do the trick...so how do i clean it? anyone done this before? thanks

bottle brush on a string..... use water to get the string through and then just pull

cool, good idea... i was aslo thinking of maybe boiling water real quick?? would it melt it??

Either the idea above, or if you find a music shop near you, they should sell small pipe snakes that have small bristles on them. These are perfect for cleaning any tubing on an aquarium (not airline though).

boiling water + plastic = art?

more than ruining yer tubes boiling would not remove the alge/ect.. it would just kill it...

fishing string and a wad of potscrubber is the best diy method ive encountered for cleaning hoses, tubes, pvc.. bottle brushes are great for pieces you can take apart but they dont do well with corners in pvc

tip: use more than one strand of string/fishingline... and put it on both sides just incase it decideds to break, come untied, get stuck, whatever

what size would fit though???.. baby bottle brush is pretty big for eheim hose...
