i found some rocks in my yard that i can use to make a rock and driftwood cave. i know theyre not limestone. how do i clean these? boiling them isnt an option. i was thinking of scrubbing with a water and hydrogen peroxide solution.
i wanna get this cave set up before tomorrow (im getting a couple new fish tomorrow and want another cave so none of the fish are fighting), so i would appreciate some fast answers if possible.

High pressure spray to get in all the nooks and crannies should get you pretty clean. Any chance of pesticides?

I agree and are they smooth surface rocks or a porous type?

scrub em with hot water and let em soak in clean de-chlor hot water. thats what i did to clean the slate tile i used to make caves for my young pbass and catfish when i had them

I think ill scrub with hot water and hydrogen peroxide solution to kill all the bacteria as well. Will that get rid of fertilizer?

.

He can't boil them.

I would just scrub them and let them sit in declor hot water also. Ive done it a few times and nothing bad has happened, BUT we have never fertilized the yard.

a good scrub in hot water, then soak overnight in bleachwater, then another night in new water with a triple dose of dechlor, should do it.
