Got a few pounds of ceramic rings in a FX5 I plan to use....all are pretty new some slightly brown. How should I clean all these rings as I want to start bacteria fresh and not introduce anything that may have been in another person's tank. Not that I don't trust it I just want them to be fresh no bacteria etc. I was thinking to boil them. Also got 4 10oz Seachem chem pure....that enough for a 240 gallon? All will be in FX5

You can soak them in a bucket of hot water from the tap, and just swish them around.

If you are worried about parasites or bacteria you can put then in a container with water and pour in a cup of straight bleach (no enhancers).
After a day or so, rinse, and use a dechlorinator before cycling them.
Other oxidizing agents such as hydrogen peroxide, or potassium permanganate could also be used.
