How to Clean tank

Hey guys. At my local LFS the other day I saw one of their workers go inside their large 2000 gallon tank and started cleaning the inside of the acrylic. I was wondering if this is really necessary or are they just wasting their time?

i do once a month to clean whatever my pleco misses defiantly makes the tank look cleaner imo

If you had a tank that was too large for the 4' poles that most scrapers use, you might have to get in. Most likely for hobbyists, it is not necessary to actually get in the tank.

Excellent, bleach and caustic soda, I'll just leave the fish in there while I add that to the mix lol

I would get in my tank if I could.

I've got about 10 years to retirement and $4500 towards a monster tank. I WILL build a tank I'm required to get in to clean
