How to correctly Vent FH?

Can someone explain the process step by step? I think I'm doing it wrong and I'm stressing my fish more than I should be doing..


As for the vent.. If I was looking for a male.. I know the vent would be a V shape but should the opening be like this (oO) or (oo)? I ask this because I tried before and the vent was a V shape but the vent was a tad bit bigger than the anal pore..

no, theres a o then a V and with a female, o then a U honestly, have a look, it is really quite easy
