So today I was at one of my LFS an I saw they had a FW Lion fish. One of the fish that has been on my wish list. The only problem is that he's in a brackish tank. I have a established FW 15 gallon. That I'm would like to covert to brackish for him. How would I go about that? I hope it's as easy as add marine salt an letting it run for a while. So please me know what I have to do.

If you're turning the tank salt or brackish you'll still have to cycle it

Of you've got a 15 I wouldn't even worry about a fw lion. I have seen them that are easily 14" long and probably 4" wide in the head. Unless you have at least a 55 I wouldn't recomend trying one. Not to tear you down or anything. It's just your asking about a fish and tank that are very wrong for eachother. Converting the tank should be easy. Just empty it fill it with brackish water and let it sit and cycle for a few weeks. Brackish tanks take longer to cycle than fresh but not as long as a salt tank.

14"!? I thought they max out around 6" this lil guy was only about 2". I've been thinking about trying a brackish tank for a while cause I love the archers, lion fish, an sole I thought I could keep him in the 15 gallon for awhile. I'm not quite ready to convert my 55 or 125 to brackish yet. Thanks
