how to cut acrylic without it cracking

i got a 180 gallon acrylic tank filled with water but can drill holes when i do 50% water change..wats a good way of doing this? i need to make 3-4 holes not sure of the size of hole yet..got to measure..i can post pics if needed for refrence..thanks..
