I've had my SP for almost half a year and see little growth or even her getting fat. Been constantly feeding her live food since she doesn't eat non-live and looks like she's only grown about an inch in 8 months and is still flat after a few hours of feeding. I'm thinking maybe I can de-worm her to get her to grown. Any thoughts or suggestions would be great.

Additional info:
- Black worms are not available in our area.
- Food usually are feeder carps
- She doesn't eat anything that's not alive.
- currently at ~9"
- Solo in a 180g 5 x 2.5 footprint

Prazi-pro is my go too.. inject it into her food for best results ( worms are great for this as they are pretty easy to do and stay alive long enough after injection to be consumed.).. I would also try expanding her food types, invertebrate type foods, crayfish, shrimp, nightcrawlers... anything along those lines.. carp alone imo aren't going to give her the nutrients she needs to grow. and make sure the live foods shes being fed are fed on a high quality food.. because all the nutrients they take in are then taken in by her to varying degrees and will only help.

imo if shes just thining out fast and not showing other signs of IPs she probably doesn't have IPs.. it's probably more a nutritional issue imo.

Use tremazol it works best I have tried different things and that seams to be the best

ive heard garlic can get rif of some parasites, might be worth a try, just put some in the bag the carp comes in and let it soak for an hour.

Most of the available food source here are already dead, live foods like krill don't really come by that often. problem is she doesn't eat dead food.

Would gut loading super worms with garlic and other food?

What's the dosage adjustment for rays?

i wouldnt bother gut loading it, i just let it soak thats what i did with mine, eventually you can soak the worms with 'garlic water' you will usually find the ray will start eating the dead food such as prawns and muscles etc because they all taste the same as the worms (garlic).

hope it helps

No dose changes

Treat on day one then after 6 hours do a big water change 50-80%

Then do it again on day 7

Works great buy it on eBay £30 a bottle treats 3000 l
