I did a search but nothing popped up. What's a good (hopefully not too toxic/difficult) solution to have in a jar and stick the nets in for a dip/soak in order to disinfect them?

Also, along that line...is the chlorine in tap water enough to kill anything?
and what about leaving overnight dry? I was thinking that drying out would kill most aquatic organisms, but I wasn't sure about pathogens or bacteria or fungus.

there is a product i believe called net soak if you can find it. our store use to use it

my lfs uses a 10% bleach solution to clean all there stuff

the other 90% is water

1 ounce bleach to 1 gallon water will kill anything. We used that to kill Parvo at the vet clinic. But you'd just have to dip it then rinse and let it dry. I'd think the bleach would eat up the net if you let it soak in there.

I usually run it through super hot water from tap. OTHERWISE if I was using it to net minnows or crayfish from lakes, ponds etc... I will use boiling water to rinse the nets in.

Just my method..

use the bleach solution. And many pathogens and other undesirables can indeed survive being dried up.

ive got a big fear of any sort of nonfish safe things being used for anything that goes in my tanks..

multiple nets, hot water and letting things air dry has always worked for me
