i just got a 4inch gar i was wondering how many times should i feed it a day and whats the best food for them

if its a baby gar u can feed it twice day. u can feed them frozen foods and stuff like that. they eat anything. u can feed them feeder fish but i wouldnt recomend it. i taught mine how to eat pellets but it took ages. good luck!dunga;1175938;1175938 said:

what kind of gar is it? do you have pics?
i can't say i follow a specific feeding schedule. i just feed them randomly throughout the day. for a smaller gar i like to get them on FD krill personally...but a high grade pellet would be great. try to avoid feeders if you can and judging by your last post he is already taking pellets. that's excellent!

I placed mine at around that size with some feeder fishes, The baby will eat when he's hungry.
It's good, however, that your gar is on pellets. Mine would rather starve then to touch those stuff. I have to admit thou, the beauty is to watch them feed.
