I have a small L114 that's around 2 or 2.5 inches. My problem is how do I make sure my L114 gets enough to eat with my hungry horde of clown loaches? My clowns are always quick to swarm any food. I've mostly been feeding Hikari Sinking Carnivore, NLS Thera A, etc.

He'll figure it out

What size tank? How many/what size loaches?

Pics?

If the L114 has been around for a while, don't worry about it too much, just feed after lights off. If the L114 is new, OVERFEED! Keep up with the water changes and cleaning of the filter media. Make sure there's leftovers for him, and overfeeding and target feeding is pretty much the only way.

If he's got a favorite hiding spot, drop a bunch of food at the opposite side of the tank. Wait couple minutes for the CL to gather there, then target feed the L114.

Thanks that's reassuring! I'm doing all of the above. I try to distract the clowns by feeding them on the other side of the tank, but they just cruise to his spot as soon as I drop any food there. I've had him since April.

Hurry up setting up the 210, then u can separate tbe loaches. Give the Pleco his own tank til you know he eats well.

I have the same problem with my fish, i use a length of PVCpipe 45mm wide and put food down it to the spot i want it to be before lights out. generally next to the hide out ;)

Limit hiding places. L114 should be fine unless something in the tank can eat him. Shy plecs like these guys can actually become pretty outgoing when they're used to not having a place to hide in all day
