I have 5 mature JD's and want to get a pair. There is 2 males and three females. I feel like the dominate male just chases all the rest of the fish around and thats about all that happens. These fish are young and ready to breed. About 2 months ago the dominate male paired out with one of my EBJD females, but now when i put them in their own tank all he did was harrass the hell out of her and made her stay in the top corner of the tank! Right now they are splitting half a 120 gallon tank. How can i get these fish to pair up? Should i take out all the hiding spots and just leave some clay pots?

Reintroduce a few other fish like maybe another jd or two so they can pair up and fend off the nest from him. Add a large piece of slate or a clay flowerpot that they can fit in so they can make a nest in it. (Silver dollars/tiger barbs work great as dithers as well.) Do large water changes, feed live bloodworms, crank up the temp to 80-82 and It's magic time : ).
