How to get arapaima to eat in large tank?

How do I get my 7 inch arapaima to eat in a large tank, he can’t seem to find the pellets o give him, he is by him self in ther, should I put more fish?

Target feed him if not grow him out in a smaller tank it’ll only take a week or two before it’s big enough to be in the big tank

would put him in a smaller tank... the problem is that the 300 gallon is the smallest tank I have lol

Divider? Doesn't have to be fancy, just something to keep him in one end of the tank, and move it along/take it out as he grows.

Have u tried other foods besides pellets? Maybe he doesn't like them. Mine eats mostly shrimp and tilapia.
