Hello. I have a baby pearl Jardini around 4", its been in my 25 gal for 3 days now and i have yet to see it feed. I've tried freeze dried shrimps and hikari pellets but no avail, only nibbles at them abit but thats i. Do they take feeders at this age? If so what should i give him?

I would try crickets.

my Jar is about 5" or so and I have tried feeding him a lot of different things. But crickets are always good for my aro. Due to his tank mates, there are guppies that go in during feeding times, but he shows no interest and seems to wait for the crickets.

i bought a 4" jardini almost 2 months ago, i tried feeding him some pellets but he just wont eat it. so i feed him so feeders then after a week i fed him some SW. now hes about 7+ inch. try feeding him some SW. arowana just go GA-GA over some SW. :headbang2

good news. It had its first meal. Seems to like guppies and pretty good at catching them. Will it be a trouble to get him off live food later on? i have experience getting gars off live.

i'm doing the same thing with my aro, i hopes the posts keep coming on this as i'm also running out of ideas to feed my jar that's not eating. i want to try aro sticks, also when i bought him they fed it in the tank some pellets and it ate them, now it's not eating the cichlid gold pellets i try to feed it.

The day I got my 3" Jardini, I started him on pellets. It took him 2 days to acknowledge the pellets as food. I also throw in a nymph lobster roach in there every now and then. Best of luck!

I suggest to try to get him off from feeding live fish. Try to give him bugs like meal worms, bloodworms, blackworms, crickets etc. Will be a lot healthier and congrats!
