How to get clownfish to engage in breeding ??

How do you get them to start? It's a 55gallon tank and from them I know witch 2 are paired up. I know anemone will help. What kind do they prefer? And how would you keep the fry alive?

First off, go to the coral section and read the sticky on clownfish compatibility.

You will no what kind you need. They also usually need a rock (flat surfaces are recommended) to clean and lay the eggs on. Other than that, give them clean water, and a good diet. Then its just a matter of time.

The clownfish pair that we keep in my lab breed...fairly frequently. Pairing is the hardest part.

There diet is pellets,tons of live rock,and I do wc every 1-2weeks

they mate when they want, all you can do is make them comfortable, I have seen them drop eggs on the tank walls so giving them a place to lay isnt that important. Either they will or they wont not much else to be done.

Like kevin said, the rock probably wont help, but giving them a spawning site right next to the anemone will make them more comfortable, which will encourage them to breed. GL
