hi I've been trying to raise these 1inch pbass and so far I've been unsuccessful. i do the usual water changes and temps at 80 degrees, but for some reason its hard to get my pbasses to eat. I've tried guppies, live brine shrimp, freeze dried shrimps, small feeders, blood worms, and nothing works. it has been about two or three weeks now and i have never seen them eat anything, or seen them on a full stomach - yet they're still alive.

how do you feed them? do you drop all of the feeders in at once? it works better if you drop one at a time. they will get used to it and hit the feeder everytime. then you start dropping in some cut cocktail shrimp in between feeders. they will take awhile, but they will start eating all frozen meaty foods... then you start dropping pellets inbetween feeders and shrimp.
also helps if you have a fish that eats pellets in the tank

it worked great for me

I agree.. If you're trying LIVE brine shrimp and they're not eating for any period of time, it's your water.

i can honestly say i've never had a problem getting a peacock bass to eat.. but i've heard it can happen.

i do know that if they eat only one thing all the time they will become fixated on that one type of food and it's very difficult to get them to try new things.

the first thing i would do is some serious water testing.. and raise the temp to between 82 - 86 degrees F. make sure the water is cycling properly and not contaminated.

then i would go with brine shrimp, either live or frozen and bloodworms.. again, either live or frozen. i noticed with my fish when they were tiny that chopped frozen krill was not a big hit, but after they were big enough to eat whole frozen krill is was far more interesting and is now a staple for all but the biggest fish.

raise your temp to 87. i was having trouble with the same this intill some one here told me to raise my temp, the day i raised it he went crazy with the eating.
