I got a really nice looking piece of drift wood from outside in a shallow creek. What do I have to do to it to make it usable in my tank? Or should I avoid it?

Thanks

I simply rinse it off with the hose and put it in. I never scrub it like many suggest. I just give it a light rinse.

Will it cause my ph to change at all?

Won't that be bad? Or is the change not very dramatic.

depends on what your ph is now and what type of fish u have

it also depends on how big the wood is, and if it is from the ''wild'' i would defiantly scrub it to get rid of any animals such as snails and what not

I do it all the time, rinse it off, and brush it down with either a tooth brush or a large r brush to take over the layer of dirt or etc... that you don't want in you're tank and then you should always remove all the bark on it, due to the fact it will start to root in you're tank or is already rooting when you found it.
