How to get rid of malachite green stains?

My aquaclear sponge is solid green and it's kind of an eyesore, any way to get rid of it?

Probably not or the color may leach out over time.I've had sponges that were "dyed" due to medications but they were not visible to me while they were in use so it was no big deal...

If the color bothers you, just buy a replacement sponge for a couple of bucks.
