Right now my ball python is getting ready to shed. Its eyes are getting really blue, or glossy.should i try misting the cages and turning on the heat lamp to increase humidity.

Yes, you should be misting him daily and having the heat lamp on already anyway.

Don't push him though...he'll shed when he's ready.

He'll probably lighten up a little and his eyes will turn back normal right before he does shed.

If he looks like he is the shed, bump the humidity up by 10-15% then go and leave him alone until you see a shed in the cage. It usually take about a week.

Hey guys, remember: Wet does not equal humid. Ball pythons only need about 60% humidity to shed properly. You want it to be slightly humid over the whole period of time in between sheds for the best results.

A lot of times, waiting for that "blue" phase is really too late to have any impact on the quality of the shed.
