Today i decided to get a plastic plant for a little yet simple decoration on my tile bottom tank.. just wanna try to experiment something new.. im thinking to grow the algae but just on the plastic plant only, wherever else it grows ill remove it to keep the tank clean..

Anyone have ever done it?

Any suggestions?

You should try a led clip light of some sort directed at the plant. You can leave it on most of the day and it should grow some algae pretty well in that spot if you leave it on longer than the other lights.

I've never done this, but try this: Put the plastic plant in a glass jar, submerged the entire plant under water, leave glass jar on a window sill that gets a lot of sun light. You'll have to replace the water as it becomes green to allow maximum lighting on the plant to grow the anchored algae.

I would think you would need to introduce some sort of nutrient as well

W Winfield92 All the components for algae growth should already be in nearly all water sources.

Just take a jar of water and put it on a widow sill. It'll start turning green in about a week

I do pretty much the same thing only sometimes I leave things outside in full sun.
I have done this when I wanted branches covered in algea.
It works well.
