I recently picked up a 14 inch male barred midas. He has a small nuchal hump. He is in a tank with a 12 inch texas, 5 inch oscar, and a 5 inch GT. All is peaceful. What can I do to encourage the growth of his nuchal hump?

Temporarily in a 75 gallon, which may be part of the reason too. I am moving fish to a pond in a greenhouse soon.

breeding is the best way to get tge large humps however some fish just dont get them and some get big ones. thats why theres a lot of line breeding to get desired body shape with some of these speciez

breeding will shrink the head bro.

Best keep by himself. If a must with tank mates, let him be the tank boss. That's how they get the head up after they adapt to the tank.

He is the boss of the tank. Not aggressive really, but no one messes with him. It has only been a week, so maybe it will grow.
