Whats the best way to heat a pond of this size? its currently being built and I just need to know what would be the best way to heat it?

Its in my basement I dont need to worry about humidity or anything in that nature.

please comment and give me some Ideas.

boiler should be the cheapest solution or heat the room with one to the correct temp .

heating the room is too much. its a canadian basement and its cold all summer long, the room is far too big to heat as well.

where do you live in Ontario Taco?

Insulate the pond, you can suspend regular tank heaters in it or run the inline heaters as was already mentioned, Trust me with insulating the tank... it doesn't require as much power as you might think to keep it warm. the worst part is getting it up to temp, keeping it there isn't a big drain

I am in Belleville I plan on pouring the cement on the foundation and then allowing to dry and siliconing styrofoam as the bottom.

I will carve out the styrofoam and paint it and then seal it on the bottom and sides of the pond. I think Inline heaters will be the best idea anyone know any good websites for them?

whats the best waterproofing for styrofoam?

I'd throw down the styrofoam then place pond linder on top of it. The foam may break off leaving a large mess and possible end up killing your fish if you just use the foam as the sides of the pond.

Try BIG Als... if you happen to hit Toronto or Montreal you can pick them up at either of those locations ;)

I hit up all the fish stores in Toronto once a month so I will check out the heaters there. any good brands that you can reccomend?
