winters coming quick just wondering what the best way is to go about heating my 240 (96x24x24) it is in the basement and has a ambient temp of about 75-76. the question is brand name, how many and how many watts

eheim jager 300 watt work awesome. i would do two. theres also 500-1000 watt titanium heaters that seem to be the rage. at 76 degree temp in the basement a heater may not even be neccessary as thats a solid temp to keep centrals at
If you have a canister, Hydor inline. One 300 watt will do the trick. If no canister, get a two Jager 200 watt.
i have an fx5 and kind of dont want an inline heater and want to keep the temps around 80 for growing purposes and breeding.

^^^agreed. I have 2-300 watts in my 125 and they are very accurate and efficient. I can't speak for longevity since it's only been a month.

Never used one but you don't have too much to worry about. Worst case scenario if it fails is temp will only drop a couple of degrees. If you have it, use it.
