Hi,

A Lfs has P.Mokelembembe, I have done a search but the threads are quite old. Are these rare? If I went to buy one and the patterns are washed out how could I tell it's a Moke? What is the desired pattern for these? Super wide bars?

Thanks

I've always been able to tell by the black circle at the base of the pectoral fins.

That and the fact they have some of the fewest dorsal finlets of all bichirs. They mostly get mixed up with Retros because of pattern. If you can tell the difference between Retros and mokes, you have the hardest part out of the way

The black circle on the pectoral would be te easiest way for me. Mokes seem to have really wide bars is that the case for majority?

I have had my Moke for about 4 months now and I have only ever seen it eat about 5 times, it stays behind the filter pipes all day and night. Shall I leave it there or place him in my grow out tank??

Thanks

As long as it's getting enough food then I'd say leave it in.

I have seen it eat 5 times in 4 months......never ever comes out.....

Mine dis the same thing drove me nuts so i sold it but its one beautiful poly
