Hi Folks,

I'm going to buy a new Malaysian High Back Golden Aro which sell in Cambodia, I was wonder how can I identify the real certificate.

Here's some clue about the certificate that I asked the seller to show me:

1. The type of the aro said: HIGH BACK GOLDEN (I've checked the xian leng's website I haven't found any type like this)

2. There're two website address and the one said: www.xianleng.com instead of www.xianleng.com.my

3. They had 2 xian leng's certificate belong to the 2 aros they had, as I looked into the stamp on the below left then I've noticed both certificates had exactly the same stamp and the way it print.

Please help me and give some idea how to find the best Arowana. :D

Thanks,
Robin

The first web site isn't a web site of the farm, the second is.

The cert should look like this.
http://www.xianleng.com.my/english/Product/images/Certificate/AAAGradeMalaysianGolden.jpg
Looking at their web site it seems they name the type of fish on each cert, a lot of other farms just have Malaysian Golden for RTGs, HBRTGs, X backs, so i wouldn't be too worried if you don't see high back Malaysian Golden on their web site.
In addition when you buy the fish the vendor should scan it's chip which will match with the number on the cert.

The seller's certificate almost looked like that, but the picture of the fish is different and it shown Red arowana instead. the name of the fish type said HIGH BACK GOLDEN bellow the fish picture. and the website shown www.xianleng.com instead.

Is this a scam? they sell it for me for $160. acceptible? even without the real certificate?

Thanks,
Robin

At that price its more than likely a scam or fake certificate for a high back golden! If you're local to this person, view the fish and if you like it buy it because for that price its a real bargain.

Chances are it's a regular RTG. I presume you're talking U.S Dollars.

Honestly, I was in doubt in identifying which is High Back/Cross Back/XBack??
this is my only question in indentify the type of Aros.

Please give me some clue or pictures so that I can easily go to the store and identify it before I buy.

Thanks,
Robin

All asians have to be microchipped. High back golden is RTG, having a red arowana as a picture should be right. If everything else matches the example legit cert, I would expect it to be legit. One last thing you can do is ask the seller to scan the chip and match the code to the one on the cert.

For 160$ I wouldnt worry about certificates...
