I've been going to the lfs and they only ever seem to have young cichla. Some Azuls and kelberi but at 3 and 4" I'm not sure what to look for. Can anyone give me some pointers on what to look for in a young Kelberi.

As for how the fish will turn out with for green, gold, or spangling depends on collection point and care of the fish?

thanks for any help.

They're really hard to ID at that age, if not impossible since the only markings they seem to have at that size are three vertical stripes. And that only narrows one or two down... I know that they have yellow spots on the bottom fins and on the top and sometimes the tail unlike anly other PB. But yes their colour mostly depends on their diet and husbandry but I find the wild ones are usually green :/
