I have (2) 7"Crenicichla sp. ‘Red Atabapo’ for 2 weeks now, I am feeding them live gold fish but the (2) pike just chase/ follow them around. Any suggestion?

How big are the gold fish? Maybe try some small tetras or something. You should really try to get them on pellets and frozen foods if you can.

First of all, get it off of live foods as soon as possible, as feeding goldfish as a staple diet can be deficient in nutrients. Thats why we as responsible hobbyists try to give them as varied of a diet as possible, so thats why we can fill their dietary needs as much possible. Garlic extract would be a good idea as well. You can also try fasting them for a few days, then try giving them mysis shrimp, or blood worms. Normally they will readily accept them. Don't give up though, normally they won't starve themselves to death...;)..as they are gluttons.

Thanks guys. I will stop feeding the goldfish, I will try some cichlid pallets and dried krill.
Any other suggestion for food?

My pike eats algea wafers. I think he does it just to piss off the pleco. I thought we were trying to get away from live food? I would advise against frogs and anoles. I imagine they would come from a place like a petsmart or petco and lord nows how many parisites/deseases they have.

I feed my pike krill, market shrimp, worms, crickets, beefheart, algea wafers, blood worms and some pellets. The only pellets it will eat are the hikari sinkers(the most expensive pellets I can find:irked: ).
