How to introduce new cichlids with territorial cichlids? Well I did not like the arrangement of my aquarium, had 2 convicts, I introduced 1 electric yellow, and 2 peacocks, the convicts held their ground, bullied the new fish. I rearanged the aquarium and it seemed to put an end to the territory problems. Well that is my experience with territorial situations.

try doing that with more aggressive cichlids, that wouldn't work very well

I've got a 12" Dovii that rearranges his tank every day... :D

He is related to many of my fish.... they are all interior decorators.

If you are going to keep agressive fish remember the longer the tank the better chance you have of haveing a happy tank.

Hey Guys

Here is my personal tip on introducing new cichlids to a cichlid tank... it takes a while and you need patience, but it works.

You need to remove each cichlid from the main tank, and place them seperatly in buckets (with sponge filters) for an hour, in the meantime you add the new cichlids to the main tank. After an hour you put back the one you removed.

And voila ... I never gotten any territorial issues.

Cheers!

Then they re-establish pecking order and territories.
