I am breaking down my tank and doing it over. As such, it will probably go a week without any fish in it. Will my BB all die off? I plan on keeping water in the tank and the filter running. Should I just dose some amonia daily, or can the filter go that long without "food" for the BB?

I don't have another tank to put the filter on

Well, you could leave some fish in it, but basically you need some source of ammonia. If I remember correctly I read somewhere that BB colonies will start dying back within 24 hours and could be completely dead within a few days. So, I definitely wouldn't just leave the tank without any source of ammonia.

Leaving the fish.isnt really an option since I am getting rid of my entire current stock and wont be able to replace for a few days. I may just throw a dead shrimp in there for a few days
