How to know a bluegill is happy

I've had this bluegill for a few weeks and it seems to be doing fine, but i don't know if its happy or not. Is there anyway to tell if it is?

IMO you can see that a Bluegill is happy when you walk across the room with the food in your hands and he zips across the tank to meet you at the opeing where you drop his food and goes berserk eating it.
