I was thinking of doing a rack with all my 20 gallon and 10 gallon fish tanks instead of having them all over the house. My question is how to link them with a single filter. I don't want to overload the circuit with 10 filters in the same area.
Hey, what you should do is get a an air pike with lots of tubing and link them together using sponge filters for filter. That should be enough for 20gal and 10gal tanks. Guys at the local fish club all use sponge filters. One guy has one pump running 80 5 gallons..
Hello; I saw a fish room with pvc pipe pressurized running along the wall. There were taps into the pvc where short lines ran to individual tanks. Check into air systems for a garage. I have seen systems advertized for running shop air tools from pipes, the advantage may be that the taps and other hardware already exist and will not have to be fabricated.
U prob won't overload the circut. I wouldn't spend the time or money. If u have any disease in one tank or problem, you will be in serious trouble. Sponges are the easiest option for what you are trying to do
Hello; Don't know if they are still made and sold, but there use to be air powered hang on back filters with replacable media. They would use roughly the same amount of air as a sponge and have the cleanable/replaceable media that actually takes detritis from the tank. I have operated them a lot over the years.
