how to make a cheap aquarium....

Its not somethingl I'll tryout any time soon. But if I get to many fry I'll keep it in mind. I like the idea but like said not the most pretty tank. I suppose you could decorate the out side too.
 
Styrofoam does Leach out nasties after a while , be careful , also don't risk putting a heater in it.

I guess as a temporary tank in some emergency / fry tank type deal would be okay...

But for long term i cant deal with an ugly tank, heck, i cant even stand bare bottom tanks so i would have to pass...

um, so then your saying all the *diyer* need to get out of the hobby if they are building a plywood tank? this video is a great video for those that are in a hurry to build a hospital/fry tank.....
 
In a pinch/emergency and you happend to have all this crap already then yes great idea and cheap.

To go out an get all that stuff to build it, not worth it.
