Hello! I wanted to know how to make a (Good) sump pump? I wanted to know what were the most important components that are need and why? Also what are the pros and cons of sumps? I currently have a 125 gallon with (2) penguin power filters 350 a Eheim 2217 and a cascade 1000. I notice the my fish poop floats around alot and maybe the sump would correct the problem. Thanks

Sumps don't really do much mechanical filtration. Usually they are for bio.

sumps do some mechanical but as stated are more bio.... and I would recommend mag drive pumps....

Well sumps dont do mechanical unless you set them up to. Just put a bunch of media to catch debris in the first sump compartment. Make sure your water has some good current, or just some air stones to get all the stuff up from the bottom and into the sump. If you set it up with a bunch of sponges and other media used for mechanical filtration, a sump is as good as any for mechanical, right?
